Partridgeberry
Mitchella repens
Near North Penjajawoc Forest, Bangor, Maine
This plant likes to hide under leaf cover in the woods. The small roundish leaves grow opposite each other on a long, creeping stem. A pair of pink or white flowers appear together on the end of the stem and the bright red fruit follows.
